The Diocese of Ely Education Directorate

We are seeking a Bishop’s Officer for School Mission!

The Bishop’s Officer for School Mission plays a key role in implementing the effective work-streams which will help us to achieve the Missional imperative of our whole diocese Ely 2025 Strategy, within the context of our Church schools.

The links below will tell you more about the role, why it is being created, and the sort of person we believe will be best equipped to fulfil it. You will also find links to our foundational strategy document People Fully Alive. An application form is also included.

If you would like to discuss the post informally, please do drop me an email and my office will arrange a time for us to talk.  And if you come to believe that it is right for you to make a formal application, please complete the form in the usual way and return it to by noon on Tuesday 1st May 2018.  Interviews are scheduled to be held in Ely w/c 21st May 2018 and we hope that the successful applicant may be ideally able to start work by September 2018.

This is an exciting time for us as a Diocese, as our Strategy moves into a phase of purposeful implementation and we seek to further engage fully and courageously with the needs of our schools and varied communities.

We are seeking a School Performance Officer!

The diocese is looking to appoint a small number of School Performance Officers to work within the diocesan education team under the leadership of Head of School Performance.  The role is part-time and flexible in nature.  This is an exciting opportunity for anyone seeking to provide direct and meaningful support to the hard working headteachers and staff of our Church Schools.  Full details, background and an application form are available below:

For an informal conversation about the roles, please contact Teresa Stephens on 01353 656 760 or by email on:

Applications should be completed and returned to by noon on Monday 14th May 2018.
